This homeowner’s goals were multi dimensional:
Create the feeling of openness. Update the overall look. Add more
storage. Increase casual seating and transform the kitchen into a
prominent space in their home.
Removing a wall between the kitchen and the dining area instantly
gave the kitchen a larger appearance. An island with drop-down
seating replaced the existing peninsula, providing the additional
casual
seating the homeowner desired. Existing wall soffits were removed
to accommodate extra tall wall cabinet. The customer now had
the additional storage necessary in today’s kitchens.
The update was completed with rich dark hickory cabinets accented
by light oak flooring—the overall effect; a complete redefining
of space.
