It was a case of idea interpretation. These homeowners expressed
an
idea of what they wanted in their new kitchen. We listened
to what
they
wanted, developed ideas and transformed those ideas into
a kitchen
they
will enjoy for years to come.
We developed an idea for
a cook top with a concealed hood creating abold and dramatic
presence.
We then designed
a massive island that
housed both the main sink and a prep sink. This kitchen was
designed
to do more than impress visually, it was also loaded with
functionality, like a large raised eating area at the island
with
long-term storage underneath.
The idea of staggered cabinetry was introduced, with cabinets
reaching
different heights and different depths. The results were
absolutely
remarkable. The cabinetry provided functions the homeowner
will
appreciate long after the dust has settled—like a defined
(but
concealed) telephone and message center, and extra wide drawers
and
pull-out shelves for easy access.
Did we interpret correctly? We were sure we did when the
homeowner announced we had exceeded his expectations!
