The Challenge:

This year, Jessica and Donna of Showcase Kitchen and Design Center Inc. were selected to participate and transform their own space for the event. The room they created was a children's 'play haven'; a multi-use space for the homeowners four kids of varying ages.

The room is composed of different areas such as a two person desk, entertainment and gaming nook, crafting area complete with a sink, toy bin, and even a small snack center. They were responsible for selecting all finishes and coming up with the overall design of the room.

A vibrant color palette pulled from the multi-colored carpet squares was repeated through out the children's space. To get a better appreciation of the room please visit the Showcase House and see for yourself.

Event Background:
The ASID Showcase Home is collaboration between the American Society of Interior Designers and MPLS.ST.PAUL Magazine, showcasing fantastic interior design in a unique Twin Cities home. This one-of-a-kind event is a benefit for the Junior League of Minneapolis and Junior League of Saint Paul. This is the ninth year of the showcase.

Faux finishers and other artists and craftsmen will add amazing details throughout the home. ASID members will direct, create and transform the entire home, showcasing the best in interior design in Minnesota.
